Join an NIHBA COMMITTEE Today!

Participation in NIHBA’s Committees is an excellent way to get involved in the Association’s activities!  It also provides great networking opportunities and the chance to support the efforts of the home building industry throughout Northern Illinois.

BUDGET & FINANCE:     

Dan Jurjovec/Lakewest Custom Homes, Chair

This committee is responsible for reviewing the monthly financial statements and for providing oversight and stewardship for the Association's assets. 

Budget & Finance Committee meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7:30a.m.  This committee is invitation only to join.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE:

Matt Reed/Tyvek/Parksite, Chair  

This committee meets to discuss educational opportunities for NIHBA members that will address the problems and challenges we are faced with in our home building industry. The committee organizes Educational Seminars and Forums to address pertinent industry topics. The committee's goal is to help keep NIHBA members informed on current industry issues, sales techniques, and customized business solutions.  The Education Committee meets quarterly on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at NIHBA at 11:00 a.m.  Please see online calendar for specific meeting dates.

MARKETING / PR / COMMITTEE:

Teresa Haish/ Chicago Title & Trust, Chair   

This committee works to create new opportunities to advertise member businesses and services within the association. Their focus is to develop website and social media programs in an effort to expand and help brand our association to new members and consumers.

Marketing/PR Committee meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Please see online calendar for specific meeting dates. 

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE:    

Jon Green/Engineering Resource Associates, Chair

The Membership Committee develops recruitment and retainment programs for new and current members. Additionally, this group creates and implements programs and services of value to the membership including New Member Orientation; Membership drives and NIHBA community partnerships. The committee oversees Membership growth via emails and calls to potential, new, and existing members throughout the year.

Membership Committee meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at 8:00 a.m. 

PROGRAM COMMITTEE:     

Tim Coleman/Douglas Coleman Home Solutions, Chair                     

The Program Committee creates and plans the monthly General Membership Meetings, Golf outings, Calcutta, and annual holiday party.  They also assist with other innovative activities for the membership, including our popular Builder Connect event that pairs our Builder/Remodeler members with our Associate members. The Program Committee's goal is to bring NIHBA the best programs and events. 

Program Committee meets the 1st Wednesday of the Month at 10:30 a.m.  

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE:

Rich Guerard/ Wyndham Deerpoint, Chair

This committee is responsible for working with our State Lobbyist to identify critical local, state, and national building industry issues that are relevant to our Builders and Remodelers.  Their focus is to inform our members on specific legislation including codes, mandates, tax, financial, immigration and other issues pertinent to our industry. They attend meetings with local and state municipalities and representatives, including City Councils, and participate in the NIHBA Lobby Day.

Government Affairs Committee meets as needed when the State Legislation is in session.
